Doilies have been a timeless and elegant addition to home décor for generations, adding a touch of grace and sophistication to any space. If you’re an avid crafter looking for your next project, the “Doily Majesty” pattern is sure to captivate your creative spirit. In this article, we’ll explore the beauty and intricacy of the Doily Majesty crochet pattern, providing inspiration and guidance for crafters of all skill levels.

The Doily Majesty Pattern Unveiled: The Doily Majesty pattern is a stunning crochet design that combines classic charm with modern flair. Created using a 1.25mm crochet hook, this doily is crafted with precision and attention to detail. The finished size of 17 inches ensures that it will make a statement wherever it’s placed – whether on a coffee table, dresser, or as a beautiful centerpiece.

Stitch Guide: Before diving into the pattern, familiarize yourself with the essential stitches and techniques involved. The Doily Majesty pattern incorporates stitches such as single crochet (SC), double crochet (DC), slip stitch (SLST), front post (FP) and back post (BP) stitches, as well as unique clusters and picots for added texture and depth.

Size: 1.25mm crochet hook (Although 1.50mm is commonly used, I crochet loosely, so choose the size that gives you the best results.)

Finished size: 17 inches

Stitch Guide:

  • ST: stitch
  • CH: chain
  • SLST: slip stitch
  • SC: single crochet
  • DC: double crochet
  • SP: space
  • CSDC: Chain-less Starting Double Crochet (For instructions, refer to this link: https://www.mooglyblog.com/chainless-starting-double-crochet/) This stitch always counts as the first DC in the pattern.

Cluster Types:

  • FP6DC cluster: (Front Post 6 Double Crochet Cluster) Work 6 DC stitches, holding the last loop of EACH chain stitch on the hook, and pull the last loop through all loops on the hook.

At this point, the doily is starting to ruffle, and since I like to see how the pattern is coming along, I do a quick blocking it to make it lay flat. Just pin it down and spray with water. Use a hair dryer to dry it if you are in a hurry to keep crocheting. This seems to make it a lot easier for me to work on the piece as I can see the stitches and how everything is laying. You should have 16 pattern repeats. If you don’t, you have miscounted somewhere.
